I recently switched from doing affiliate shopping through my credit card rewards site to shopping on cash back sites like Ebates and Jewel. I am surprised enough with the return I have gotten, that I thought it was worth spending the time to write a post about it. Over the next couple of days I will give you a rundown of a site I am using and how much I have earned since starting us them in November.
Ironically enough, Coupon Cabin was the first site I started using to look for in-store and online coupons. Now that competition has grown, and more complex offerings are available online I do not use this site as much. It’s still great for looking for a coupon code, but it’s cash back offers are limited. It offers a specific % cash back, in-store discounts, coupons, and even app discounts (i.e. Target Cartwheel). While Coupon Cabin offers robust amount of stores and offers, I still do not love their site. It’s not as easy to navigate as others, and figuring out what cash back vs. coupon options are available are confusing. My biggest peeve on this site is it is not cleaned up as often as others. What do I mean by that? They leave expired deals up, and coupon codes that sometimes just do not work. They are not testing their content enough to know what is and isn’t working properly, which can really annoy someone who is trying to buy something really quick. They did just introduce a sidekick feature that is a browser extension that will alert you of a deal they can offer while on a retailers site. I don’t love installing these, because I do not want constant pop-ups on my screen. If that doesn’t bother you, then this extension is a great way to take the thinking of having to check their site for deals and codes. Overall, this still a good site to check for deals, and earn some money back while shopping. I have found their average cash back to be between 2-8%. Not bad if you can also stack your coupons and get free shipping as well. I will leave you with on the best positive note about Coupon Cabin… They do daily offerings where you can earn up to $150 cash back on one purchase! These deals are their exclusive offers to members (easy to sign up for) on their main page. I have already gotten $50 back on a purchase at the Loft.com. The catch… You can not alter or return the order within 90 days to receive the return. Not a problem when they are offering $75, $100, $250 (only saw this value at Christmas time) at retailers like Kohl’s, Walmart, Target, and etc.
Ending comment: Check out their site and compare their cash back offerings to others. It is great for finding coupon codes, and large daily cash back offerings.
How much have I earned since November: $59.08
